EllaLink and Alcatel Marine Network (ASN) have announced that they have begun construction of the EllaLink submarine cable system. The submarine cable system is scheduled to go into operation in 2020 and is an advanced 4-pair-fiber submarine cable system designed to meet the traffic demands between Europe and Latin America.
According to reports, EllaLink's data centers connecting Madrid, Lisbon, Marseille, Fortaleza and São Paulo will also provide fast submarine connectivity and provide the first direct fiber optic pair between the two continents.
“I am very pleased to announce this important milestone for EllaLink. The interest in this route has increased significantly since the initial idea in 2010. The EllaLink team worked with ASN to design a high-capacity system for the best subsea route. Many people implement this system. Contribute, and I sincerely thank each of them,” EllaLink Chairman Alfonso Gajate said. water blocking yarn
Philippe Piron, President and CEO of ASN, said: “The construction of the EllaLink system is a major achievement in the expansion of the submarine infrastructure between Latin America and Europe. Once deployed, it will help to enhance cross-continental connectivity to the world between the two continents. Consumers and the business community bring benefits." water blocking yarn
