Nokia has said that Nepal's Internet service provider Vianet will deploy a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network nationwide to help more than 200,000 customers achieve ultra-broadband access by 2019. This multi-year project includes the deployment of more than 100,000 Nokia GPON Optical Network Terminals (ONTs).
Nokia said its GPON fiber solution will help Vianet deliver up to 2.5 Gbps of network service to each user. This new ultra-fast network will enable Vianet users to seamlessly transition to demanding Internet applications such as ultra-high definition (4k) video content, Internet TV, live broadcast, online gaming, and support for more and more Internet devices.water blocking yarn
