According to Tencent Technology, Huawei and China Unicom signed a 5G strategic cooperation agreement at the MWCS2018 opened on the 27th. The two parties will focus on 5G end-to-end technical verification, vertical industry partnerships, 5G ecosystem construction, 5G business incubation, demonstration and promotion and other key innovation cooperation.
China Unicom and Huawei jointly released an indoor digital white paper for the evolution of 5G. It analyzes the challenges faced by 5G indoor network deployment from the perspectives of services, networks, spectrum, and users.
China Unicom had previously stated at the international partner cooperation conference that 5G scale trials have been successively opened in 16 cities. It is expected that business application demonstration and trial commercial operation will be carried out in 2019, and it is planned to be commercially available by 2020. Earlier this year, Unicom planned to conduct 5G tests in seven cities in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Xiong'an.
In February of this year, Chinese mobile phone manufacturers Huawei and Indian telecommunications operator Bharti Airtel stated that they have completed the first local 5G network trial in India. The trial was conducted at the Airtel Experience Center in Manesar.
