Application

XF-400 optical fiber loose tube filler is specifically designed for optical fiber loose tube at high line speeds. Its best working temperature is room temperature, with the temperature rises, its viscosity will gradually decrease.


Feature

XF-400 optical fiber loose tube filler is silica free, soft, non-sticky hydrophobic compound. It can remain soft at -50℃,and doesn’t drip at 80℃. It is thixotropic,suitable for cold filling. It can inhibit the growth of mold, very low hydrogen evolution, zero oil separation , with excellent oxidation resistance and long-term stability .

University of Southampton's 6.1 million project advances fiber optic technology

It is reported that the Optoelectronics Research Center (ORC) of the University of Southampton has stated that it will lead a project of 6.1 million pounds (US$7.3 million), funded by the Engineering and Physics Research Committee (EPSRC), to develop next-generation fiber optic technology.

The AirGuide Photonics project brings together 25 research institutions and industry partners to transform the future of fiber optic networks, and through space exploration, to create enormous potential for a variety of uses from fast-responding Internet to laser-based manufacturing and bioengineering.

The new program will investigate and explore the performance limits of air-core fiber technology. In addition, the project will also develop innovative manufacturing methods and reliable methods for interconnecting new optical fibers with other more conventional fiber types and other optical components such as lasers.

In order to maximize the results of this research, the program will also develop and demonstrate customized application-specific fiber based on the specific interests of the project partners, and will work with partners to demonstrate the practical use of the technology to demonstrate its unique and advantageous characteristic.

Professor David Richardson, Principal of AirGuide Photonics Project and Associate Director of ORC, stated: "For more than 40 years, ORC has been at the forefront of photonics. This AirGuide Photonics project will continue to promote the development of fiber optic technology and develop disruptive technologies that will place the United Kingdom in The leading edge of optical technology."

Prof. Tom Rodden, vice president of EPSC, stated: "Over the years, ORC has been a pioneer in fiber optic development and the development of communications technology, and has made outstanding achievements in using scientific research funds to cooperate with academia and industry partners. EPSRC has always supported ORC research. This new project is bound to bring new results again."
