Huawei Ocean Launches PEACE Submarine Cable Project Maritime Survey
On May 2, Huawei Marine stated that the maritime survey of the PEACE (Pakistan & East Africa Interconnect Europe) submarine cable project is underway.
The PEACE submarine cable system will link Pakistan, Djibouti, Kenya, Egypt and other countries in the Red Sea to a total length of 8,800 kilometers. The project signed a construction contract in November 2017 and is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Huawei Ocean is working with its long-term partner EGS to conduct submarine hydrology and geophysical surveys along planned cable routes.
EGS's professional research vessel, RV Ridley Thomas, has arrived in the area to begin offshore exploration operations.
According to Zhang Hongxiang, director of Huawei's marine project, “As we continue to provide our customers with high-quality, high-quality network solutions, the implementation of the PEACE submarine cable project has become another important milestone in testing our project delivery capabilities. We will be in the PEACE cable system. The deployment of 200G wavelength division multiplexing technology to support the rapid economic development in East Africa and promote the interconnection between Asia, Africa and Europe."
