On the 9th, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation between the Jiangsu branch of China Railway Tower Co., Ltd. and State Grid Jiangsu Power Co., Ltd. was held in Nanjing. This was the first in the country after the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between China Tower and the National Grid last month. Jiangsu Electric Power owns 3,112 kilowatts and more substations with 3,120 transmission lines and 95,000 kilowatts of transmission lines. Jiangsu Iron Tower Company has a total of 90,000 tower resources in the province and 75,000 urban floor resources. It has deployed a wealth of floor and machine room resources in the core city. The two sides will deepen cooperation in resource sharing, technical cooperation, planning and cooperation, and achieve mutual complementarity and win-win cooperation, jointly improve the efficiency of the use of social resources, and serve the building of a new Jiangsu province that is “strong and prosperous”.
Last year, Jiangsu Tower and Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd. have explored resource sharing. The first domestic 220KV high-voltage power communication tower jointly developed was built and used in Hexi New City of Nanjing. The tower relies on power pole resources to solve the problem of weak coverage of 4G signals in the area, and the power relies on the iron tower cabinet. And power and other facilities complete the power wireless network base station construction. After the signing of the contract, the two sides comprehensively deepened the sharing of infrastructure and promoted the integration of the “communication tower” and the “electricity tower”, signifying that the “sharing of the iron tower” has entered the new stage of comprehensive promotion from the pilot operation in Jiangsu. In the past three years, through joint construction, sharing, and resource integration, the province has cumulatively reduced over 10 billion yuan in repeated industry construction, providing strong support for speeding up and lowering fees for the communications industry. The number of 5G base stations in the future will be several times that of 4G. The State Grid has large-scale pole and tower resources, and a considerable part of it can meet the mounting requirements for communications equipment.
According to the agreement, Jiangsu Power will provide qualified power poles and towers as basic resources to provide support for the construction of base stations and other communications infrastructure of the Jiangsu Tower. Jiangsu Tower will open up infrastructure such as towers and floors, and equipment cabinets and aisles, and provide comprehensive support. Jiangsu Electric Power builds a wireless special network and provides infrastructure and information services for power grid services such as micro-meteorological monitoring, on-line transmission line monitoring, and distributed energy monitoring.
