American-Latin American submarine cable system Monet completed and put into production
Algerian Telecommunications (Brazil), Angola Cable (Angola), Uruguay Telecom (Uruguay), and Google Alphabet (Google) announced 10,556 connections between Boca Raton in Florida and Fortaleza and Santos in Brazil. The Monet submarine cable system has been built and the total capacity exceeds 64 Tbps.
